The Most Awaited Hotel Opening In 2024, Four Seasons Resort Mallorca

Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor: the most awaited hotel opening in 2024

The pine-covered peninsula of Formentor is the most northerly point on Mallorca. In this extraordinary natural enclave, where the Serra de Tramuntana drops into the Mediterranean, Argentinian millionaire and art lover Adán Diehl saw the perfect location to build a resort of the highest luxury. Following his hunch, he bought a large expanse of land from the Costa i Llobera family for the stately sum of 520,000 Pesetas, and Hotel Formentor was born, overlooking the stunningly beautiful Cala Pí de la Posada.

“Where Mediterranean Dreams come true”

Since it opened its doors in 1929, the hotel became home to royals and celebrities. In its eighty years of history, it welcomed presidents, cultural luminaries, royals, and movie stars into its grand public spaces and palatial suites. Its legendary list of visitors includes the Dalai Lama, Churchill, Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Plácido Domingo. Now, after a just-completed, extensive renovation, the hacienda-style property is ready to reclaim its spot as one of the chicest and most iconic abodes in this corner of Mallorca.

The Resort will also include an indoor restaurant, beachfront restaurant and café, and a poolside bar and grill. Additional onsite activities will include tennis courts and beautiful spa facilities. With three event spaces and outdoor options to take advantage of the natural landscape, Four Seasons Resort Mallorca will also be the perfect choice for those planning meetings, events, weddings, and incentive travel.

Despite the frantic development of tourism in Mallorca, the Peninsula of Formentor has been famed for its solitude and secluded beaches, the hotel remains the only one in the area and a haven of peace and tranquility.

Sustainability initiatives

The project has been designed to respect and protect its natural surroundings through various environmental initiatives, such as the restoration of native vegetation and planting, reduced water consumption, rainwater harvesting, and the use of grey water for landscape irrigation, heat recovery systems, solar power through the use of solar panels, and food waste management systems. Other initiatives include the use of electric vehicles and low energy consumption through a very considered design approach.
